Author Visit Grades 2-8 - Mat Heagerty Lumberjackula
We are so excited to welcome our first guest author of the new school year, popular graphic novel author Mat Heagerty! On Tuesday, October 1, Mr. Heagerty will visit SAIL to talk about his highly acclaimed graphic novel Lumberjackula and to share his experience of being a successful author with dyslexia. In addition to writing books, Mr. Heagerty has taught college-level writing courses at Boise State University. He often travels the country talking to elementary and middle school students about the strengths of learning disabilities and creative collaboration.
Our students in grades 2-8 will meet with him for a presentation in our media center. After the presentations, he will be available for book signings for any students or staff in the school who purchases a copy of his book or brings one from home. While his presentation is limited to grades 2-8, his book can be purchased and signed by any grade level. Please use the link below to purchase a copy of Lumberjacula that will be delivered to SAIL and ready on the day of his visit. Book purchases must be placed by midnight on Monday, September 16. Any orders placed after that time will not be delivered in time for the author visit.
